You said it’s not getting power. Washing Machine Has No Power, No Lights. Only by unplugging fridge for 24 hours, i guess. Thanks for pointing out the test button. Sometimes when the unit is pushed back into its place, recently moved, or installed, the water line may be disconnected. Thanks. When I run the test it empties the water from the tray and refills it just fine. How do I replace micro switch? Firstly, You need to reset ice maker to see if it will fill with water, if not, then you need new inlet valve, i guess. Is there a procedure to diagnose it? Hello, I have the LG LFX25991ST French door refrigerator. When the test button is manually pressed it releases ice cubes into the tray. Hi Gary, as long as we don’t know which one goes to the ice maker, the easiest way to check if inlet valve on the back “belongs” to the ice maker, is to use multimeter and to see that this valve is NOT getting power when you press water dispenser lever. If the control board not sending power to the ice maker or one of the relays on the control board failed, then the ice maker will not run. I cant seem to find it. Nothing appears to be off track out out of position. I change the inlet valve with a new one but still no water dispensing or ice being made… I think the small control board in the door is defective but that’s a big guess on my part… Thanks in advance for any suggestions…. Waterline is tested and fine. I have read all the tips about how to check the evaporator fan motor, the condenser fan motor etc. So, If it not visible then something jammed inside the gearbox which turning ice tray, I have the same wood pecker sound and the plastic tray turning acts like it is about to snap because of all of the pressure, hello I have lsc22991st model and my ice maker is not working i dont have water inside the ice maker and no noise from the back the fridge. I have pressed the reset button and turn off / on the fridge several times. Got an email and just received the packet in the mail on it yesterday. I have contacted LG with ZERO help even though it is still in warranty. I tried the test mode and it did not progress past the second test. Regarding, why ice maker not dumping ice in automatic mode, hard to say what exactly happened in your case, it can be optic sensor wiring in the door, ice maker itself or the worst-case scenario malfunctioned control board. Not sure. Great information here! Turned off power to the fridge for a minute, and tried the test button again, and still no rotation or water. Hi Vivek, for me it sounds like problem with a control board, if its not working on automatic mode, but only when you press RESET. When I take out the ice maker unit and defrost it, then replace it it makes ice for a few cycles. Any ideas or additional part I would have to check, reset or replace?. Suggestions? My LG fridge icemaker makes ice and fill the tray, but when you use the ice dispenser on the front door, the tray pops out and you have to open the freezer and push it back into place and try again. Also…where is the Control Board? Thanks for the picture, that’s what mine looks like…..I’ll keep an eye on it as well as the water drip, perhaps a cube or two got away from the bucket itself. I currently have it turned off. Ice maker makes a loud tapping noise and the tray does not turn over all the way like it is stuck. But, usually it would fix itself (a little ice clogging tube?) Had to replace something called the Assembly Bracket Motor (larger fan unit right next to the Evaporator Fan) – another weeks long wait… Ice started immediately and no leaking/freezing since removing the calcium build-up on the ice maker’s intake valve! Where is the ice maker fan located? If I reset it, it will sometimes make ice but other times the arms keep spinning for a while. And exactly at this point i would put probes of the multimeter on the inlet valve connector and see if its geting power. However it won’t dump without me pressing the button. In order to check if this fan is working, you need to apply a magnet to simulate a closed door ( see top side of the door where the magnet is located). Pulled out some big chunks of ice in the freezer section too. Please help. Water pressure is also good. I checked what appear to be vents inside the freezer and they look clear, no ice buildup. It appears the ice maker is dumping the ice before the inside of the cubes are frozen, the water drains into the bin and I get a large solid cube and no ice cubes. It’s much appreciated. The ice water dispenser motor works fine. I have already replaced the inlet valve, and the ice maker motor is turning the arm in a full circle (so it appears to be functioning), but NO water is coming out of the fill tube. How do I check if the fan is working? Your thoughths? I’m left with either icemaker itself or control board?? The lower end of the ice maker door (inside the fridge) presents condensation (that obviously eventually turns into ice). It makes the noise it always has made when pumping the water up to the ice tray. If the freezer temperature is too high, ensure that the condenser coils are clear of debris and the condenser fan is working properly. This morning I go for ice and I’m having the same issue! Very difficult to find the reset button or pin hole. We accidentally turned off the water to the unit. Once the water had frozen, the ice maker still does not eject the cubes. please help , Not sure, but if it not making ice in automatic mode, then the problem can be with the main control board. Do you think moisture is still getting in and freezing or is the control module failing? Right onto the floor. But what about ice bucket metal arm?
