I actually had an older (2009-10) Squire Tele before this, and it just didn't feel good to play. I had the P90 loaded Mustang, it was a cool guitar and I liked it a lot but I ended up switching to a MIM Jaguar because it had a lot more versatility and the neck just felt better. It was perfectly set-up out of the store, and I haven't had to touch it since. I think this is always going to prevent good intonation. The pickups were very crackly. This ash semi-hollow is a serious callback to the thinline … I think part of it is just for historical reasons, the vintage teles had the three brass barrel saddles, so I think a lot of it just has to do with that.
